College Counseling

I am certified in Psychology & Counseling (George Washington University)and Social and Behavioral Sciences Diploma. I am also a member of the American College Counseling Association. As an active conference participant and social science research fellow in different colleges and universities, I have had the opportunity to acquire additional expertise on vocational training, and expand a valuable practice/research network with multiple counseling centers.

Sociology

I have a bachelor and master degree in Sociology and Public Policies. With more that 15 years of experience in social research, I have acquire all needed knowledge to advise and evaluate projects in multiple areas of public/private interest.

I taught Sociology of Education, Methodology and Research Techniques as well as Latin American History in different universities in Mexico, El Salvador and in Bolivia.

Spanish

I have been teaching Spanish in other countries, and have long years of experience tutoring high school students AP/SAT, as well as adults working at the United Nations (UNHCR) for six years, as translator, interpreter and teacher. I worked for 5 years in FLES (Foreign Language Elementary School) all around Montgomery County. I have a degree in Sociology and M.A. in Political Science.

Study Skills

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
