I love to teach! For the last 35 years I taught pre-K to elementary , middle school and adult education. No matter the age my teaching style is interactive, engaging, and always fun - with structure and established routines. I started teaching because I wanted to be present for my kids and share the same vacation and break time, so I could have fun with them! In Brazil, I got my teaching degree in early childhood and elementary, and later MA in Education through Framigham State University, while working at the American School in Sao Paulo. When I moved to Massachusetts, I got the required certifications to teach in the Public Schools. For the last 20 years, I worked in the Framingham and Worcester public school system, and at QCC, the local community college, as well as Ascentria a non-profit, teaching English to new commers. In October 2025 I moved to California to be close to my grandson.
I teach with the same enthusiasm and dedication as I did when I first started with much more knowledge and experience. As a classroom teacher we did science experiments, worked on projects during and after reading books, explored the elements of literature, and worked on hands-on math activities to understand the concepts. This last year, I tutored students with learning challenges and although I am not trained as a Special Ed teacher, I worked with many fantastic professionals, and the experience help me be a successful tutor to my special needs students. I make most of my teaching materials and build games and interactive activities with my students.
