I love to tutor! While getting my undergraduate math degree, I used to tutor college students in College Algebra, Business Statistics, and Business Calculus. Also was a private tutor/consultant for a graduate level statistics course. While in undergrad, I tutored students beginning at 2nd all the way to 12th grade. This included: Geometry, Algebra 3, Middle school exit exam prep, Calculus, SAT prep, 4th grade, and 6th grade math. I started off the session by asking them what they needed help in, as well as giving them a few questions, give them a few minutes to work on them, and then explain how they did it to me. This way, I was able to see their thinking process when it comes to them doing math. It helps in trying to figure out the best way to help the student.
One of my biggest excitements happened when the mother of the student that I was tutoring for the middle school exit exam called me and told me that her daughter's test score increased 50 points!
I just finished a Masters degree in Mathemathics Education so I am a certified math teacher!
Also during my senior year in undergrad, I was the in-class tutor for a College Algebra 2 class. I was treated like a TA which means that I tutored students, answered questions, and even taught some lessons.
While a student in statistics at Purdue, I have tutored undergraduate students in Biostatistics, Probability, and Statistics.
