I taught general chemistry full time at a community college in Illinois for 32 years, and part time for 3 years. For the last 5 years I have tutored mainly college chemistry (not organic chemistry) and math (not statistics). I have also done some tutoring
chemistry and math for high school students.

My degrees include a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and a PhD in chemistry.

I will be in the Boca Raton area until very late March 2015 and can do tutoring of high school or college chemistry or math.

Very Helpful and Gracious on Short Notice

Alvin was not familiar with the type of SHL test I was studying for but it did not matter as fundamentals do not change. He was helpful in breaking the stories down and formulating the equation.

Kind and patient

Alvin tutored my daughter. He was kind to her and patient when she was anxious about not understanding a problem. He tried to show her simple ways of solving a problem instead of using a longer, more complicated method. Alvin also did not move on to a second concept until he knew my daughter understood the first. He was easy to communicate with through Wyzant; he answered emails promptly and made sure he could be reached by phone.
