Hello!

My name is Christine, and I have been teaching since 2004. I have a B.S. in chemical engineering from UC Berkeley and a M.S. in mathematics from California State University. I currently teach at the University level and have taught everything from basic math and algebra all the way up to calculus. I started my college career at a community college. The first class I ever taught was Intro to Statistics and it is the class I have taught more than any other course. I have also taught (and tutored) basic math, algebra (I, II, and college), trigonometry, finite math and calculus. I am certainly capable of and have tutored other math courses such as higher level calculus and linear algebra. Please let me be your ticket to passing your next math class! Know that when hiring a tutor you should be selective because knowing math and being able to communicate the math language are two different things! Since I have been teaching, helping students in office hours and tutoring in the tutoring center at school I know how to get students to understand math on their own. I tutor the math and science sections of the ACT and SAT. Before I started teaching I was an engineer in the semiconductor industry. I wrote chemical recipes for making microchips. It was a very creative and challenging job which taught me how to communicate with not only engineers but also many non-engineering types. I am very good at breaking complicated topics down to simple understanding.

I can help you if:
* You need a little one on one guidance
* You just have one more math class to pass before graduation
* You are preparing for a standardized test
* You need testing techniques
* You need help managing your time
* You focus on the most important aspects of the course
* You need a patient and capable math expert!

In addition to the zip code listed, I am frequently in the DTC and downtown Denver areas.

Thank you for reading my ad!

Christine

Math

Linear Algebra,

Linear Algebra

I received a Bachelors on Science degree from University of California at Berkeley where linear algebra was part of the core curriculum. I then continued my education and obtained a Masters in Science degree from California State University East Bay in applied mathematics where I took more advanced courses in linear algebra. I am currently teaching at Metropolitan State University of Denver and teach many of the topics that are covered in linear algebra. This semester I am teaching Computational Matrix Algebra which is entirely linear algebra.
Trigonometry,

Trigonometry

I have been teaching and tutoring Trigonometry for over 5 years. Since I also teach it I know the curriculum very well and I know where students struggle the most. This is very helpful since Trig is a new math language.

Knowledgeable and extremely effective tutor

Christine has been fantastic as a Trig/Precalc tutor. She is extremely knowledgeable and very effective at imparting her knowledge in a clear and concise manner. She is flexible in working with multiple resources--she spends time reviewing materials from my child's class as well as incorporating outside practice problems, resources and teaching tools that are very helpful. Can't say enough great things about Christine--would hire her again in a second!

Truly great tutor, you will be so glad you signed up

Christine is a great tutor. She's capable and patient. She explains everything so clearly, that you will be very pleased if you sign-up to study with her. She helped me to learn some of the very tricky formulas in Statistics.

Great session

Christine was well-prepared, arrived on time, communicated well prior to the tutoring session and helped my daughter prepare for the SAT. My daughter enjoyed the session and Christine's method, learned a great deal, and we will use her again.

Great A/P Calculus tutor!

Christine helped me study for my final for last semester and is continuing helping me this semester with my A/P calc. She has helped understand the fundamentals of calculus and is a great tutor.

Very kind and patient!

Reviewed math foundation for Algebra 2. Christine has gone above and beyond to locate worksheets to work on the area's that we need to review in order to get caught up in the time we had off in Algebra 2.

Very kind and knowledgeable.

Christine has tutored our child for the last couple of months. I appreciate that she reviews to make sure that our child understands. We feel she has helped to advance our child in this short amount of time.

Excellent math tutor!

Christine is a friendly and encouraging tutor! She worked with our kids for the majority of the school year on Algebra, and was very good about explaining things in a way the kids could understand. After using a couple other tutors prior to Christine, we knew she was great at math! We'll be using her again next year!!

Patient and dedicated

I needed tutoring in statistics and Christine wanted to see my syllabus ahead of time to make sure she could help me. She was honest in what topics she could easily teach and which ones she was familiar with, but would need to review ahead of time (there was only one topic she needed to brush up on). She wanted me to provide topics ahead of time so she would be prepared for our time together. She is very kind and patient and she teaches in a way I can understand. She is great! I am writing this review after only one tutoring session, so that says a lot about her!

Well prepared Tutor

I was very happy to find a AP Statistics tutor for my son. Christine responded quickly to my request and was very accommodating. My son relayed that Christine had a thorough understanding of the subject and was well prepared for his lesson. She asked what he was working on ahead of time. She helped him review for an upcoming test and he was successful improving his grade.
