Bio

Greetings! My name is Nick, and I have been blessed to be able to tutor math as my full time job since graduating with highest honors from the California State University. Over the past twenty years I have had successful results with over one thousand students in the Orange County area. In addition to tutoring I teach Algebra and Geometry part-time at a local school, and I am head coach of a travel baseball club!

Greetings! My name is Nick, and I have been blessed to be able to tutor math as my full time job since graduating with highest honors from the California State University. Over the past twenty years I have had successful results with over one thousand students in the Orange County area. In addition to tutoring I teach Algebra and Geometry part-time at a local school, and I am head coach of a travel baseball club!

I usually spend my first session getting to know your student's learning style, strengths, and weaknesses. I will probably spend some time assessing a few fundamentals, but I really need to know what makes your student comfortable and what will make learning enjoyable. This helps me to personalize a program, enhancing learning in a way that is most efficient and accelerates your student's success. I also like to make lessons fun, and I've been told on countless occasions that my patience is my greatest asset!

I pretty much have the math spectrum covered...subjects include the new Common Core curriculum for elementary school, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Finite Math, Discrete Math, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus, as well as honors courses at all levels. I have helped hundreds of students improve their scores on the math sections of the SAT and ACT and have had dozens of students achieve perfect scores. I have had great results with all age groups.

My home base in the Tustin-Santa Ana-Anaheim Hills-Orange area and yes, to help make things as convenient as possible, I will drive to your location.

Teaching is a craft - Nick is a skilled teacher

Teaching is a skill and a craft. Just because an individual has mastered a subject does not necessarily make him a good teacher. Nick is a skilled teacher. He has tutored both of my boys - one in pre calc and one in summer geometry. Both boys have a good relationship with him and have done well in their respective classes. he is a gifted teacher and has a vested interest in seeing the kids succeed.

Nick was able to "connect" with my son on a calculus II college course. My son is an older guy who took calculus I over five years ago. Returning back to college, he had to withdraw twice from calculus II classes the last two years as he could not stay on point and lost confidence in the process. Nick was patient, spent some upfront time on a calculus I refresher, and most importantly, got my son engaged in the class. Stressed the key elements of each chapter for a focus review in preparation for quizzes and tests. Bottom line - my son scored a solid B in the class - now three classes short of his bachelors degree.
