Every student has a different way of learning. I figured this out from first-hand experience watching some of my colleagues excel in the classroom setting while others needed to try something different. Acknowledging the fact that students have different methods for processing information, I've spent the last 5 years adapting my methods to cater to as many students as possible. There are many different ways of presenting information, and all it takes is finding the right one for you. There's no need to worry if you are struggling to learn in a classroom. I was just like that as a student. I went from failing my high school geometry class my freshman year to receiving a Student of the Month award in AP Calculus my senior year. You need to figure out what works for you, and I can help you with that.

As for myself, I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics, and previously earned 5 Associate's degrees in two years before transferring to a university. During my time as a student, I've accrued over 5 and a half years of tutoring experience, both in a professional setting and independently, and have dealt with students ranging from middle school to university level. I get a great sense of pride from watching my students go from struggling to acing their classes, because that means that I've done my job. If you need someone to dedicate some extra time to helping you find your method so you can hit your stride, contact me and I will do all that I can to help you excel.

MATLAB

I have worked with MATLAB for the last 2 years. I have taken a formal class on MATLAB, which I did very well in, and have also used it in most of my subsequent course work. I have assisted several workshops on how to use the software as well. Additionally, I have sat down with students to help them with their projects and have also tutored in the use of Simulink.

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I have years of experience tutoring Algebra 1, with students as young as 7th grade and also in college. Having worked at the math tutoring center at my community college, this was one of the most commonly tutored subjects. Many of the students had not taken a mathematics course in years, so I did my best to bring them up to speed and ensure their success, receiving much positive feedback in the process.
Algebra 2,

Algebra 2

I have years of experience tutoring Algebra 2, with students ranging from high school to being in college. Having worked at the math tutoring center at my community college, this was without a doubt the most commonly tutored subjects. Many of the students were fresh out of high school and others had taken time off from school, but almost all had not taken a mathematics course in years, so I did my best to bring them up to speed and ensure their success, receiving much positive feedback in the process.
Precalculus,

Precalculus

I have tutored precalculus for high school, community college, and university students somewhat regularly for the last 10 years. In addition to having done private tutoring for this subject, I was employed as a professional tutor for the Math Success Center at Chaffey College during my time there, which exposed me to methods I previously hadn’t thought of.

Differential Equations

I have taken a formal class on differential equations and received an A for a grade. At this point, I've tutored several students who have struggled with the class and have received positive feedback. I also hold an Associate's degree in mathematics, meaning I am certified in the subject. In addition to tutoring differential equations, I've also tutored and personally succeeded in other electrical engineering classes in which methods of differential equations are used.
Electrical Engineering,

Electrical Engineering

I am currently in my senior year of an electrical engineering degree at California State University, Norhtridge. I have remained in good standing my entire time in school, and am several electives short of obtaining a degree. Moreover, I am specializing in communication systems engineering, and am also knowledgeable in the area of power systems. I have tutored other students in course work I have already completed with the consent of the department, and have received compensation for these sessions. I was also inducted into my university's chapter of Eta Kappa Nu, the honors society for electrical and computer engineers, signifying that I am in the top 25% of engineers in this major academically.

Sam is fantastic!!

My son has been struggling with Algebra 2 and in just a couple of sessions Sam helped him get an A on his chapter test. Sam has also been really flexible with his time and was able to come on short notice to help my son prepare for a test. I can't say enough good things and we are looking forward to working with Sam next semester. A great tutor and a great guy.

Great Tutor

Sam was a real professional. I had no problems setting up a time and place. He was very knowledgeable and helped me understand some concepts on the subject elementary statistics. He was patient and explained everything well. I would hire him in the future if I needed other tutoring.

My son was very comfortable working with this tutor!

Sam helped my son get through his geometry on his own by explaining things in a different way. After one hour my son felt more comfortable with the material and Sam told him, "you know this stuff, you're just thinking too hard". That gave my son a huge boost of confidence and that's what he needs as much as anything. Thanks Sam!

Great Tutoring, Very Clear and Easy to Follow

I've been struggling with this topic for over 2 weeks and within one hour Sam made everything so clear to me. He was very clear and detailed in his explanations and whenever I asked questions he was very patient and made sure that I understood before we moved on to the next step. I highly recommend him, he will definitely help you out.

Great tutor, very patient

Sam is an excellent tutor. I was having trouble understanding some rules in Calculus, and after my first session with him I was able to solve the problems on my own. He is very patient and really helped me understand the material.

Excellent Tutor

Sam is very knowledgeable in his subject area and is capable of explaining complex problems in a manner that it comprehensible to the student. My son likes him.

Very patient, willing to come to you and is fairly flexible with his schedule

Sam met me on a moment's notice and helped me with my differential equations class. He also gave me about 1.5 Gb! of notes for all my future classes! He was extremely helpful and is really an A+ tutor.
