I am a professional Educator.
My educational experiences are, Undergraduate Degree in Applied Management, Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, AZ. Relevant to my current occupation are courses such as Applied Communication, Group Dynamics, Leadership and Supervision and Interpersonal Skills. Masters in Elementary Teaching, University of Phoenix. Courses successfully completed, Art of Teaching, Adolescent Development, Instructional Strategies, Assessment in Reading and Language Arts. Currently, I hold eight years as a long/short term Sub-teacher at Isaac and Alhambra School Districts. At these I teach K-5 all subjects included are ELL/ELD. Currently I have added 100 hours of training in TEFL,TESOL including two specialty modules: Working with young learners and Working with limited resources. I have obtained certification. In addition, I am a professional tutor specializing in preparation for State standardized tests such as AIMS, Terra Nova, Galileo Benchmarks improvement in Reading and Math. Also, Writing samples as required by the State of AZ.

My tutoring adventures have taken me to very positive situations. All of my students are administered a screening test or pre-test to determine strong and weak points. For Kindergarten I tutor in helping with the Alphabet, lower upper case, Reading/Decoding, spelling, letter names, consonant skills, Reading/Comp., fluency. 1-5 grades I tutor the following Standards; recognition of characters, sequence, relation to true stories, prediction, traits, locate specific information, fiction/non, poetry, Author purpose, problem/solution, utilize charts, maps and tables. Language Arts: K-5 grades, tell/retell story, follow directions, share ideas, vocabulary, organizing, prepare a speech and deliver to audience. Writing; 1-5 grades I tutor with writing process, pre-writing, drafting, revising, and editing. Ending with a clear well organized piece of material. Math: K-5 grades, express whole numbers, addition, subtraction, compare, money, fractions, multiplication, decimals and percents. Throughout the tutoring sessions I give weekly tests in respective subjects while the students' keep track of improvement by using a Fluency Graph sheet. I find this motivates he/she to challenge their abilities. In closing, all of my students have improved their skills by a 30 to 40 percent hike. A 95% percent score is expected as the final outcome.
