I am a certified teacher looking for students to tutor. I have an Alabama State Teaching Certification in Secondary Social Studies. However, I am looking to tutor all ages in a variety of subject areas. I am currently pursuing a second master's degree in English Language Arts Education. I have experience teaching a wide range of students from Kindergarten to Adult/College age. I have recently assisted a local elementary school with ARMT test tutoring in math and reading for 3rd and 4th grade. I also have experience teaching adult English learners. I use a whole brain, multimedia teaching method that works well for all ages. Additionally, I hand pick resources that will assist in academic success. I care greatly about my students!

Elementary (K-6th)

I have experience teaching elementary students in all subjects. I have tutored for an elementary school in math and reading.

Study Skills

I have perfected an approach to good study skills over the course of my personal education. I have also successfully assisted many other people in improving their study skills. I use a variety of whole brain and multimedia methods to remember material.

ESL/ESOL

I am a certified teacher that has worked with ESL students previously in inclusion classrooms. Additionally, I was recently approved by Mercedes Benz to teach German speaking people English. I have designed a personal course for those individuals. I have also taken several foreign languages before, and I am familiar with techniques to teach language to English Language Learners.

Flute

I have played flute for over 15 years. I was an all-state flutist in high school. I teach flute lessons regularly during the summers. I play for different organizations in my area.

Bible Studies

I am certified in Women's Ministries at my church. I teach a Sabbath School class, and I teach at least 2 other Bible studies per week independent of my church.

Praxis

I have taken and passed the Praxis. I also helped several students in my master's cohort study for the test. I organized their study.

Social Studies

I hold an Alabama Teaching Certificate in Social Studies. I have enough credit hours in social studies to teach at a college level. I did 6 months of student teaching for high school level social studies, and I prepared my students for the high school exit exam. I have passed the Praxis in social studies with a very high score of 183.
