Apply To be a tutor
Sign Up to Get Tutoring Jobs In Your Area
Leave at least 20 minutes when applying to be a tutor, because you won't be able
to stop and come back later. The entire process is done online, and we suggest doing
the work at home, so you have access to the necessary information. We'll ask for
your basic information, education, resume, photo (optional), and a free response
section for your tutor profile. The next day, you'll get an email from us with a
link that you must click on to confirm your application. We'll review your application
and get back to you within the day with further instructions. Please note: WyzAnt
requires all tutors to become certified in each subject either by completing a short
multiple choice test or submitting a "written request" detailing your experience.

We Notify You About Students
How do we notify you of jobs in your area?
There are two ways you can get tutoring jobs through WyzAnt. 1. WyzAnt receives
a general inquiry from a student in your area in one of your tutoring subjects,
and we notify you of this opportunity. In this case, you can find jobs by doing
a job search on our jobs page and then email the student telling him/her you're
available. 2. A student emails you directly after seeing your profile on WyzAnt.com.
When this occurs, you should login to your WyzAnt email and reply saying whether
or not you're interested in the job. You can also ask any questions you may have
when you email the student. In either case, WyzAnt will always notify you via email
when there are new tutoring jobs in your area.

Email With Students
How TO correspond with prospective students
It's your responsibility to email back and forth with potential students to determine
whether or not to take various tutoring jobs and if so, to work out the logistics
to begin the tutoring. Please note: at this stage, all correspondence must go through
the WyzAnt email system. You will not be able to begin the lessons or to exchange
phone numbers until the student has billing information on file with WyzAnt. (More
on this next...)

Green Light To Begin Lessons
When can I begin the tutoring jobs in my area?
There's only one thing you need to check prior to beginning the tutoring jobs: you
must make sure that your student has billing information on file with WyzAnt. Once
you verify that your student has billing info on file (usually a credit card), you
can go ahead and start the tutoring. Most students prefer to have the tutoring work
at home. You can also conduct tutor jobs in a library or coffee shop.
05
Submit Your Lessons
How do I submite my hours?
After each lesson, WyzAnt tutors are responsible for entering the lesson details
online. We use this information to bill students and pay tutors for tutoring work
completed. (You may have noticed that WyzAnt tutors are required to have consistent
email access. In addition to submitting lessons, you must be available to communicatie
with students and WyzAnt. Luckily, you can do this work at home.)
06
Get Paid
How do I get paid for my jobs?
Choose between direct deposit and check to receive payments for your tutoring jobs.
Payment is made twice each month. As a tutor, you choose your own hourly rate and
receive a percentage of this. Initially, you receive 60%, and as you continue to
do tutoring jobs for WyzAnt, we increase this percentage up to 80%.
