Hello! My name is Xavier and I have been tutoring English for over twenty years. I earned my Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults back in 1999 and have been tutoring ever since at academies and in private lessons in Spain, Costa Rica, and the United States. From 2011 to 2016 I worked with the Dept. of Education TRiO programs at colleges helping students with study skills, public speaking and educational planning. This experience has made my tutoring approach more holistic by incorporating confidence boosting strategies that will help you succeed in learning English better and faster.

I am a native English speaker and also speak Spanish fluently. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest (Oregon & Washington State) and my accent in West coast American. My hobbies include photography, nature walks, reading, computers and tech, music and audio, and watching Premier League and La Liga football matches.

In my tutoring approach, I aim to be a patient and highly adaptable tutor with a good sense of humor, providing lessons that are interesting, engaging, and fun. Lessons include plenty of speaking opportunities and I tailor my materials to what you need to work on the most. My motivation is seeing you improve and accomplish your goals. Studying with me will make it easier for you to do your best whether you are looking to improve your English for school or work, prepare for exams, or simply improve for personal reasons.
