Hello everyone! I am Faisal As a tutor with a strong academic and professional background in computer science, I bring both technical expertise and a passion for teaching to every session. I hold a Master of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, both from George Mason University, where I graduated magna cum laude. While completing my undergraduate and graduate degree, I served as a teaching assistant for computational data science courses, helping students build foundational skills in MATLAB and R. Alongside that, I served as a teaching assistant for computer science courses such as secure programming, networking, and any java courses. This experience allowed me to guide students through complex concepts in ooo programming, statistics, data analysis, certificate use, open-source softwares, etc. in both one-on-one and group settings.
Professionally, I’ve worked in software engineering and cybersecurity roles. These experiences have deepened my understanding of real-world applications of computer science within secure programming and java topics. I bring these insights into tutoring sessions, helping students understand not just how to solve problems, but why the concepts matter. My approach is hands-on and tailored to the individual—I break down technical topics into digestible steps, use visual aids and real-world analogies, and adapt to each student’s learning pace. Whether you’re a beginner in programming or looking to master algorithms or cybersecurity concepts, I aim to make learning rewarding, intuitive, and confidence-boosting. Previously I taught students at George Mason University. Ages ranged anywhere from 18-24. I tutored mostly online with the occasional meetups if needed and requested by the students. I have been tutoring for about four years in total.
