Hi! I'm a writer, editor, and current undergraduate at UVA, where I study English. I’ve always been passionate about writing and communication—whether through essays, fiction, or visual layout. Hi! I'm a writer, editor, and current undergraduate at UVA, where I study English. I’ve always been passionate about writing and communication—whether through essays, fiction, or visual layout. While I've studied the classic English major subjects—critical literary analysis, 18th-century literature, and the role of the novel—I’ve also taken courses on 14th-century comedy, desktop publishing, Japanese horror, astrophysics, and post-apocalyptic climate fiction. In other words, my coursework has covered everything from Chaucer to the collapse of civilization (with a little quantum theory in between). This broad academic background has shaped how I approach ideas: with curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to follow questions wherever they lead.

Outside the classroom, I’m an active member of the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society, which has fostered generations of thinkers, artists, and leaders. Being part of the Society has shaped how I approach learning—not as a solitary pursuit to perfect, but as a conversation to be shared with curiosity, empathy, and critical thought. It’s taught me how to think deeply, listen generously, and express myself with both clarity and care.

As a tutor, my style is collaborative, encouraging, and highly adaptable. I believe learning works best when it’s rooted in curiosity and conversation, not pressure or perfection. I work with students to identify not only what they’re struggling with, but how they think, process, and learn best. Whether someone needs help structuring an essay, developing an argument, or finding their creative voice, I aim to create a space where they feel comfortable exploring ideas and asking questions. I try to meet students where they are—listening closely, offering clear explanations, and always celebrating progress along the way.

If you're looking for a tutor who’s passionate, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in helping you succeed—whether it’s for a college essay, a creative piece, or something in between—I’d love to work with you!

Acting

Acting

I was very involved in theatre between the age of 12 and 18. I was one of only 8 students in my school’s history to be moved to the advanced practicum course at the age of 13 where I studied directly below the head of our department. I spent many hours not only learning the craft but acting as a mentor to both peers and younger students. In the 6 years I actively pursued acting, I revived 9 out of the 10 roles I went out for, 4 of which were main characters, 3 of which were principal characters, and 2 of which were supporting roles. I have been everything from an actor, to a lightning design technician, to a stage manager.
Desktop Publishing

Desktop Publishing

I studied desktop publishing at the University of Virginia and used those skills to independently design and self-publish a book. I handled everything from typesetting and interior layout to cover design and preparing files for print. I’m familiar with the full publishing process and can help others build strong foundational skills in layout, formatting, and visual design. I am also very well versed in InDesign, which is industry standard for desktop publishing.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I not only have a passion for writing, but also an extensive educational background in it. I attended a secondary school with a writing program that operated 2–3 grade levels above standard, and I peer-tutored many classmates during my time there. I’ve consistently earned A-level grades on essays of all kinds, and I especially enjoy helping with persuasive and narrative writing. I’m confident working with students at all levels to improve clarity, structure, argumentation, and style.
Fiction Writing

Fiction Writing

I'm an English major at UVA with a passion for fiction writing. I’ve been writing stories for over a decade and as the head editor of a literary journal that specializes in fiction, I have a unique eye for what makes a story stand out and resonate with readers. I offer detailed feedback and collaborative guidance to help writers clarify their ideas, strengthen pacing, and elevate their voice. Whether you’re outlining a novel or polishing a short story, I’m here to help bring your work to life.
Literature

Literature

I’m an English major at the University of Virginia with a strong foundation in literary analysis, developed through both college coursework and personal study. I’ve spent years writing and reading literature across genres, time periods, and styles. I love diving deep into both classic and contemporary works, and I aim to make literature feel engaging, accessible, and thought-provoking. Whether you need support with close reading, essay structure, or class discussions, I’m here to help you think critically and write confidently.
