Hi! I'm a writer, editor, and current undergraduate at UVA, where I study English. I’ve always been passionate about writing and communication—whether through essays, fiction, or visual layout. While I've studied the classic English major subjects—critical literary analysis, 18th-century literature, and the role of the novel—I’ve also taken courses on 14th-century comedy, desktop publishing, Japanese horror, astrophysics, and post-apocalyptic climate fiction. In other words, my coursework has covered everything from Chaucer to the collapse of civilization (with a little quantum theory in between). This broad academic background has shaped how I approach ideas: with curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to follow questions wherever they lead.
Outside the classroom, I’m an active member of the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society, which has fostered generations of thinkers, artists, and leaders. Being part of the Society has shaped how I approach learning—not as a solitary pursuit to perfect, but as a conversation to be shared with curiosity, empathy, and critical thought. It’s taught me how to think deeply, listen generously, and express myself with both clarity and care.
As a tutor, my style is collaborative, encouraging, and highly adaptable. I believe learning works best when it’s rooted in curiosity and conversation, not pressure or perfection. I work with students to identify not only what they’re struggling with, but how they think, process, and learn best. Whether someone needs help structuring an essay, developing an argument, or finding their creative voice, I aim to create a space where they feel comfortable exploring ideas and asking questions. I try to meet students where they are—listening closely, offering clear explanations, and always celebrating progress along the way.
If you're looking for a tutor who’s passionate, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in helping you succeed—whether it’s for a college essay, a creative piece, or something in between—I’d love to work with you!
