Hello! My name is Allie, and I’m an undergraduate at the University of Virginia studying Math and Psychology. I specialize in tutoring math from elementary school through Calculus, and I have over four years of experience working with students of all ages.
In high school, I worked as a math instructor at Mathnasium, where I taught everything from basic arithmetic to advanced topics. I also volunteered as an online Algebra tutor for students on the Hopi reservation, and I’ve continued tutoring in college through local schools and private lessons (Geometry, elementary math support, etc.).
When needed, I create lesson plans and pull from resources like Khan Academy to give students extra practice with feedback. I also use my iPad’s drawing tools to make sessions more interactive and visual, which is especially helpful for online learning.
My goal as a tutor is to help students truly understand concepts instead of just memorizing. I love seeing those “aha!” moments when something clicks. In addition to math, I’m also happy to share advice on college applications and extracurriculars.
If you’re looking for a patient, supportive, and experienced tutor who can make online learning engaging, I’d love to help you or your student succeed!
