I have previously worked at the University of Glasgow's Student Learning Development department, where I led the Life Sciences Mentoring Programme and helped coordinate the Maths Peer-Assisted Learning Programme. I also mentored life sciences students for two years, supporting them in study skills and transitioning to university.
My tutoring approach is highly personalised. I adapt each session to the student's needs, using examples and contexts that make the material relevant and engaging. I focus on asking questions which guide students to discover answers for themselves, examine their thought process, and think about the subject in ways they perhaps haven't before – strengthening their critical thinking skills rather than simply providing solutions.
