Hello there! My name is Omolola and I am an RN with years of clinical experience in acute care and geriatric settings. I have a BSN and am currently working on an MSN with a concentration in Nursing Informatics from Northeastern State University. I am a highly qualified professional with a strong educational background that has provided me with amazing analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. I am able to successfully utilize these skills in the healthcare environment, as well as in the tutoring of students in a variety of subjects.
One of my passions outside of nursing is mathematics, specifically Algebra I and Algebra II. I have always loved solving equations and finding patterns, as well as helping students to understand the logic and flow of algebraic principles. For many students, algebra can be quite daunting at first; however, I am great at deconstructing a problem into smaller, more relatable steps that will help the learner to not only learn math more clearly, but also with a great sense of fun and confidence.
I have a few years of experience tutoring and mentoring high school, college, and nursing students both individually and in small groups. I have also worked as a clinical preceptor and peer mentor in the nursing field, leading new nurses and students through processes of clinical reasoning, care planning, and other aspects of learning how to apply theory to practice.
In general, my teaching style is patient, supportive, and goal-driven. I am able to pace each learning session based on the individual’s learning style and goals, with a focus on clarity, confidence, and mastery. I am just as comfortable leading a student through a complex algebra equation as I am in helping a nursing student study for an exam. My goal as a tutor is to empower each individual learner to achieve academic excellence with a true understanding rather than memorization.
