I earned my bachelors and masters degrees in business at the University of Maryland, College Park and am local to the DMV. I tutored math now for upwards of seven years, and have more formally taught in Washington State and Virginia for a combined four years. During my first two years, I taught on long-term math and literature assignments. During my second two years, I taught Algebra II at a high school in Northern Virginia.

As your tutor, I understand the importance of letting you show me where you are in your learning journey, and I promise I will gently help you continue from where you left off so you can launch into becoming a subject expert on the materials you are asking for help.

Piano

Piano

I have 12 years of experience playing classical piano. As the student's piano teacher, I will help students link materials they are learning in school to the warm-up books and recital music they would learn in my class. Students would study piano with me once a week for one hour, and I would assign practice materials. Usually, I assign a warm-up piece as well as a section of the recital piece students are working towards. I would also be able to provide advice for students about learning a new instrument (brass, woodwinds, strings) through the school system and DMV young artists programs.
Public Speaking

Public Speaking

Whether you are looking to have great public speaking skills for an upcoming presentation (capstone, research project, group PowerPoint), better classmate collaboration skills on a day-to day basis, leadership skills for a school club or sports activity, I am happy to guide you. Public speaking is important in both small group settings, leadership roles, and one-time presentations. Being a part of Toast Masters at University of Maryland, College Park significantly elevated my public speaking expertise. My experience in public speaking includes preparing and delivering step-by-step PowerPoint presentation of science projects that won awards, leading honors societies and advocacy groups for 10+ years in the DMV, working as a math teacher where I speak regularly in front of 135+ students, and working as an educational financial modelling instructor on Excel and PowerPoint interfaces to adults in both English and Spanish. I am happy to support you in your endeavors to strengthen your public speaking skills.
