I am a certified SPED and high school science teacher with over six years of classroom experience and more than two years of private tutoring in math and chemistry. My background includes teaching high school Chemistry, Biology, and Pre-AP Chemistry, as well as supporting students in Algebra and Geometry. Before moving into education, I also worked as a medical laboratory scientist, which gives me a strong real-world foundation to connect scientific concepts to practical applications.
When I tutor, I focus on building clarity, confidence, and problem-solving skills. I break down complex ideas into step-by-step explanations and use plenty of examples to ensure students understand before moving on. I encourage students to explain their thinking out loud, because teaching back is one of the best ways to deepen learning. My approach combines patience, high expectations, and engaging explanations that meet students where they are, whether they are struggling to catch up or aiming to excel.
I work with students of all backgrounds and ability levels, from those needing support in mastering foundational math skills to advanced high school students preparing for college-level science. I take pride in helping students not only improve their grades but also develop lasting confidence in their own abilities. My goal is always to make learning both rigorous and enjoyable so that students feel prepared for their next academic step.
