Hi! I’m Alejandro (also go by Alex), a data-driven, patient tutor who loves turning confusing math into “oh! That makes sense.” I completed an MPH in Biostatistics & Epidemiology at USC and work as a data analyst in San Antonio, where I apply statistics to real public-sector problems every day. Before that, I taught high school AP Calculus AB and AP Statistics, leading seniors through rigorous coursework and exam prep.
My tutoring style is structured but friendly: we start with a quick diagnostic to find the exact sticking points, then build a targeted plan with bite-sized goals. I teach concept first (why it works), then method (how to do it), and finally reps (confident practice). I use plain-language explanations, visual sketches, and real examples, from simple functions to hypothesis tests, that match what students actually see in class. For test prep (SAT/ACT math or AP), I focus on high-yield topics, timing, and error logging so progress is visible and steady.
I support middle school through college for Algebra I/II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus AB, AP Statistics, and Intro/College Statistics. Sessions can be online or local, with weekend and evening availability. After each meeting, students (and parents, if applicable) get a brief recap with what we covered, a couple of targeted practice items, and the plan for next time. Message me with your course, upcoming test date, and goals, I’ll reply with a quick game plan and we’ll get you moving forward.
