I have always believed that true understanding happens when students can connect the dots between what they learn in the classroom and how it applies to real life. As an MD in Emergency Medicine residency, I’ve been fortunate to teach in a range of settings that reinforce this hands-on philosophy. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry summa cum laude before applying to medical school. During that process, I achieved a 98th percentile MCAT score, allowing me to choose where I wanted to learn. In medical school, I’ve learned in the classroom and hospital, participated in community engagement, led research culminating in publication, and scored in the 95th percentile on USMLE Step 2. My teaching background spans from leading anatomy sessions for high school students to tutoring my fellow medical students in preclinical and board exam content. These experiences have allowed me to work with diverse age groups and academic levels, ensuring that each lesson is tailored to the student’s current knowledge base and goals.
Outside the classroom, I bring years of hands-on expertise from my time as a firefighter and EMT, where I taught skills in fire academies, EMS programs, and community workshops. This real-world perspective has shaped how I approach learning: I believe in practical demonstrations, active student participation, and consistent practice to build confidence. Whether we’re tackling science fundamentals, exploring advanced medical concepts, or sharpening math skills, my aim is to create an environment that inspires curiosity and fosters genuine understanding. With every student, I focus on meeting them where they are and guiding them toward mastery - one concept at a time.
