My journey in the field of education and behavioral science began at Wharton County Junior College, where I earned an Associate of Arts in Behavioral Science. Currently, I’m continuing that path by pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Houston Community College. Throughout my academic career, I’ve immersed myself in courses like developmental psychology, behavior analysis, abnormal psychology, and sociology—all of which have shaped my understanding of how children learn and grow. I’m also CPR certified, which adds a layer of preparedness and safety to my work with students.
For the past two years, I’ve worked as a behavioral tutor at Aloha Mind Math, supporting students from kindergarten through high school. My role involves more than just academic guidance; I take the time to understand each student’s unique learning style and behavioral needs. From building early literacy skills and improving writing fluency to strengthening math foundations through pre-algebra, I create customized lesson plans that meet students where they are. Patience, structure, and encouragement are central to my approach, helping students not only succeed academically but also build confidence in their abilities. I also maintain open and consistent communication with parents to ensure we’re all working together toward shared goals.
Outside of tutoring, I’ve gained additional experience as a volunteer teacher assistant and camp counselor. These opportunities allowed me to work with children in both classroom and group activity settings, honing my observation and communication skills. Whether I'm guiding a tutoring session or leading a group activity, my goal remains the same: to create a supportive and motivating environment where every student feels safe, understood, and inspired to grow.
