I firmly believe that each student’s success is my success as an educator, and that everyone, everywhere can learn. These two beliefs form the core of my teaching philosophy to which I add the lessons I have learned over my years as an educator, and the theoretical models and research I learned in my own educational journey. My educational background includes the Harvard Business School Online Credential of Readiness (CORe), PMP Certification, two Associate degrees, a BS in Psychology, an M.Ed. in Mathematics Curriculum and Instruction, and I am currently pursuing a Ph.D as well. I have previously taught public middle and high school math (3 years combined), and am currently teaching developmental math at the college level. I have also been a volunteer tutor for colleagues, friends, and schools for most of my life. I get to know and pay attention to my students and their specific needs to use techniques best suited to them to engage them in their learning (e.g., Socratic dialogue, scaffolding, etc.), and I look forward to collaborating with Wyzant to reach even more learners.
