Hello, I'm Ally! I am a high school student with proficiency in mathematics to the Calculus B.C. level, as well as background in all AP science courses (physics, chemistry, biology).
I have 4 years of tutoring experience, both as a volunteer and a paid tutor. Primarily, I have worked as an Algebra II and Pre-calculus tutor, helping students become more comfortable with mathematics by providing an in-depth lecture of the material the students learned in class and later creating practice problems that required thorough understanding of the learned concepts and ensured that students were prepared for questions in class examinations. As a volunteer, I have helped elementary school students with reading, specifically working with individuals who struggled with reading basics, improving my ability to be a more patient and adaptable tutor. Working with these students enabled me to remain flexible in my approach to teaching and encouraged me to pursue novel, creative instruction methods that were best suited to each individual student.
Due to my experience with tutoring students of different age ranges and with different skill levels, I am confident that I can work with my student to find a learning approach that best caters to his or her needs.
