I am currently an Assistant Principal managing 5th-8th grade math teachers. I have served as a Middle School Math Content Specialist creating curriculum materials, assessments, running professional development sessions and coaching teachers. I also have experience as a 7th and 8th grade math teacher, with a 100% passing rate in 8th grade math. I am currently certified to teach 4-8 grade math; and am looking to add high school certification to my credentials in the future. I am a proud alumni of Texas Woman's University where I graduated cum laude and earned a Bachelors degree in Mathematics with a minor in Education (2012). I also hold a Masters degree in Curriculum & Instruction for Math Education (2015) and I am currently pursuing my Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership. I have been recognized as the Rookie Teacher of the year my first year in Spring ISD, and in 2016, I was recognized by the Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators as the Teacher of the Year for my campus. I have served on a committee for the Texas Education Agency as well as other similar professional platforms. Math has always been my favorite subject. I enjoy learning new skills, strategies and exploration of math content. My goal is to encourage and give all students the support they need so that they feel confident that they CAN do it!
