I’m Valerie, a student at Texas Woman’s University, set to begin nursing school in Spring 2026. I scored a 92% overall ATI TEAS exam this past July. My individual section scores were 82% in Reading, 94% in Math, 96% in Science, and a perfect 100% in English and Language Usage.

My goal as a tutor is to help students focus on the highest-yield concepts so they can study smarter, not longer. My approach is highly personalized. I’m more than happy to re-teach the concept using materials I create myself that are clear and memorable. I also emphasize test-taking strategies, like spotting distractors and managing pacing. If you need support beyond content review, I can help you design realistic study schedules and weekly topic plans so that our session time is focused on active practice and application. I’m flexible and will serve you in whatever way is most effective for your goals.

I bring a wide range of teaching and tutoring experience to the table. As a Kids Sunday School teacher, I take a weekly topic outline and turn it into a complete, engaging lesson with PowerPoints, interactive activities, and games that reinforce understanding and encourage practical application. I’ve also tutored one-on-one in high school Geometry and AP/IB Spanish, as well as college-level Anatomy & Physiology and Statistics. Currently, I’m a Supplemental Instruction Leader for A&P I, where I lead two review sessions weekly. This role focuses on blending “what to learn” with “how to learn,” giving students both the content mastery and learning strategies they need to succeed.

Across all these experiences, I’ve learned how to create lessons that meet students exactly where they are and move them forward with confidence. I'm especially confident helping students master TEAS A&P, chemistry, biology, and English and language usage.
