About Allison

I would love to help you and your child(ren) achieve your goals -- whether it be for a particular test or long-term assistance in a subject. I have been an educator for over 20 years -- specializing in math (through algebra 1), reading, phonics, grammar, proofreading, physical science, Hebrew (for prayer and b'nei mitzvah preparation), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook) and cooking (for adults and children).

I believe in learning and achieving through positive reinforcement and goal-setting. Everybody learns through different means, and I tailor my teaching style to meet each student's needs. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas at Austin and have a strong background in child development. I use these skills every day in my teaching -- from breaking down phonemic components for better reading fluency, to understanding cognitive differences in language, literacy and mathematical development. I also have a vast background in special needs (especially speech/language based) and love working with these students.

If you need a tutor who is encouraging, positive and knowledgeable, please contact me for a free 30-minute consultation!
