***NOW TAKING ENROLLMENT FOR FALL 2017! TIME SLOTS ARE FILLING UP QUICKLY!***
Hi, my name is Allison, and I would love to help your children exceed their goals. I have over 20 years of experience in education and hold a Bachelor's of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders: Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Texas at Austin. My experience spans preschool through high school and adult education, including a specialty in special needs in both children and adults.
I have worked with hundreds of students to help them meet and exceed their goals, and I believe in learning and achieving through positive reinforcement and goal-setting. I understand that everybody learns through different means, and I tailor my teaching to meet each student's needs, ability and goals.
My students include children of some of the top people in the medical and bio-medical engineering fields. When I was living in Los Angeles, some famous names approached me to help their children succeed, and I even coached Anthony Anderson (star and executive producer of ABC's _Black-ish_) in chanting the Torah blessing for a web series. Since relocating to North Dallas, I have watched my tutoring business grow even more and am lucky to work with so many students who are benefiting from individualized instruction.
***I am currently taking students for the upcoming fall semester. I project only having room for one or two new students this year; so, if you are interested, please contact me soon. I will complete my fall schedule by mid-July. Travel boundaries are (around): I-30 (south), Windhaven Pkwy (north), Midway Rd (west), Preston Rd (east). If you do not live in the area, I am happy to meet at a library within these boundaries. All students who meet me in Downtown Dallas meet at my office near Thanksgiving Square.***
Please check out my reviews to find out what parents and students have to say.

Allison has been tutoring our 12 year old daughter for nearly 2 years, 4 times/week. She is incredible at managing behavior issues which compound learning difficulties. Our daughter has made progress in more complicated addition/subtraction, multiplication and early division. Allison is adept at finding methods to help kids understand the concepts of math. For example, she taught our daughter division by applying multiplication concepts which were easier for her to learn. Additionally, Allison is preparing our daughter for her bat mitzvah next year. She has made great strides in reading Hebrew. Allison is a valuable 'member of our family' who provides professional, disciplined and compassionate tutoring for our daughter. We are grateful to have her in our daughter's life.
Allison did an assessment of sorts and found out my daughters weak points - and has made a plan to work on those

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
