Hi, I’m Luke -- a school administrator and former classroom teacher who loves helping students grow in both confidence and mastery. I’ve worked with students from 2rd grade through high school, and I bring both warmth and academic rigor to every session.

My undergraduate degree is in Economics with a minor in Latin, and I'm working on a Master's degree in the Humanities -- which means I’m equally at home helping students tackle a tricky algebra problem or revise a persuasive essay. My own academic path gave me a deep respect for both numerical reasoning and clear written expression, and I love guiding students through both.

I specialize in:
Middle school math including Algebra 1 and Prealgebra – building confidence in the foundational math that supports long-term success

Latin – all levels including AP, with experience using just about any textbook and pedagogical model you can think of

ACT/SAT English and Reading – proven strategies and deep practice

Essay Writing & Study Skills – from brainstorming and research to final drafts and time management

AP Support – in Latin, English, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, and European/World/US History

As an assistant principal at a classical school and former Latin and Economics teacher, I understand the challenges students face. I’ve helped students unlock their potential, improve performance, and even come to love subjects they once dreaded.

I offer online tutoring nationwide and in-person sessions in North Texas. Whether you’re preparing for the ACT, catching up in Algebra 1, or tackling your first big research paper, I’d love to help.

Send me a message and let’s get started.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I love helping students build confidence in Algebra 1. As someone who struggled mightily with math at first, I know how important the right explanation and encouragement can be. With a strong background in math classes, and as an instructional coach to middle and high school math teachers, I specialize in helping students master foundational skills and apply them to real problems. Whether we’re prepping for a test or reviewing homework, I keep sessions focused, supportive, and engaging.
Bible Studies

Bible Studies

The text of the Bible has always been a topic of deep personal interest. I took several college courses exploring the Old and New Testaments, and have read through both multiple times, with several academic commentaries. Whether your need for assistance is in understanding the interesting question of authorship or just keeping the timeline of events together, I am eager to help!
Classics

Classics

I taught Latin in the classroom for 3 years and still serve as the instructional coach for our schools Latin teachers. I have a minor in Latin from Trinity University in San Antonio, and a personal passion and interest in the Classical world, especially the great books.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I bring a well-rounded background in elementary education, with two years of classroom teaching experience in upper elementary and two years as an instructional coach supporting teachers in grades K–5. In this role, I not only worked directly with students but also trained and mentored new K–6 teachers, giving me a deep understanding of effective instructional practices. I have also served as a substitute Dean of Students, overseeing discipline and student support at the elementary level. Across all of these experiences, my focus has been on helping students succeed. I work hard to build confidence, encourage curiosity, and make learning enjoyable for every child. Whether it’s reading, writing, math, science, or social studies, I meet students where they are and guide them toward growth. My goal is not only to help children master skills but also to foster a love of learning that carries into every subject.
Government & Politics

Government & Politics

My Bachelor's degree is in Economics with a concentration in Public Policy. I am well read in classical and postwar American political thought, especially political economy. My experience working for a Political Action Committee, working in the State capitol for a state legislator, on multiple campaigns, and for a geopolitical advisory firm gives me a firm grounding, along with my academic studies, in state, national (US), and global politics on both a theoretical and practical level.
Latin

Latin

I've taught using half a dozen different curricula over the years in different contexts - to children and adults, online and in person, in large groups and solo - If you can name a Latin textbook being used, I can make it work! I have experience adapting modern second language acquisition research to a grammar-translation classroom, and supporting an immersive Latin classroom with a strong grammar foundation. Whether you're an adult wanting to learn about this beautiful language, prepping for the AP Latin exam, or just trying to pass the next test, I help students go from confused to confident!
Logic

Logic

As part of my graduate work, I spent time working through of Dr. Peter Kreeft’s excellent bok Socratic Logic. This course helped sharpen my understanding of Aristotelian logic, syllogisms, valid and sound reasoning, and how classical forms of argument can illuminate everything from philosophy to everyday thinking to coding. I bring a structured but conversational approach to tutoring logic, whether you're working through a formal curriculum or just trying to make better sense of logical reasoning in writing and debate. I especially enjoy working with students from classical schools or those approaching logic for the first time.
STAAR

STAAR

In my current role aside from tutoring, I work with the rest of the leadership team to assist teachers in planning and developing content to ensure that students are prepared for the STAAR test, whether it be targeting specific TEKS with instruction or working on specific question formats in classrooms beyond those with tested subjects.
Swimming

Swimming

I began swimming competitively at age 7, and swam all through high school, placing in district meets in the backstroke and the butterfly. I have given private lessons for 10 years, and assistant coached a summer rec team of over 350 swimmers for 5 years.
Writing

Writing

Whether you’re writing a persuasive essay for school or a college application personal statement, I can help. I specialize in the full writing process: brainstorming, organizing, drafting, revising, and editing. I’ve tutored freshman writing at the college level and coached students from all backgrounds. I especially enjoy working with students who want to improve their writing skills across subjects—history, English, even science—and need structured support to stay on track.
