I'm Ben. I graduated from the University of Kentucky with a BS in Mathematics in 2018, completed my PhD at the University of Michigan in 2024. I was named an Outstanding Graduate Instructor in 2023 by the UM Graduate School, and have experience teaching courses across all levels of mathematics. I strongly believe that everyone can become a "math person", and that most people just haven't had the right math teacher. I believe that teaching math takes patience and understanding, and that hard work is more important to success than natural ability.
I have experience tutoring and teaching College Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus I-IV, Linear and Matrix Algebra, Discrete Math, and a variety of higher level topics, including Topology and Modern Algebra, at the undergraduate and graduate level. I have also been a student aid with courses that could be described as "Math for Poets" and similar introductory math courses not part of the standard math sequence. I am also able to provide test prep services.
