Hi everyone my name is Jillian! I graduated from Penn State Abington with honors. I earned a Bachelor's degree with a major in rehabilitation and human services and a minor in psychology. I also have an associate's degree in social services. When I was a little girl I always wanted to be a teacher. I would have a pretend classroom and would be teaching my dolls what I learned that day in school. All of my teachers would want me to tutor the kids in school that were having a hard time with a subject starting from elementary school up until college. Some of the subjects I would tutor would be English, reading, and in college my Rehabilitation and human services classes. I would tutor in my neighborhood as well by just helping with homework.
In college I interned on the human services side and taught adults that had intellectual disabilities, mostly autism. It was so rewarding. Sometimes I would ask them what they wanted to learn and it would be how to write a five paragraph essay. I also taught them how to get a job, go on an interview, write a resume, and life skills. My clients grew so much and I was so proud of them. I was very patient and I didn’t care if I had to repeat the lessons a couple of times. Lots of times I would learn the lessons and then teach it to them at their pace. I would even send them emails of cool clips or fun reminders of the lesson even though I didn’t have to.
I am very patient and will make learning fun. I will be a great asset to your family.

I mostly tutored English starting from elementary school and English was my best subject. I taught a lot of English lessons at my internship. I am very passionate about it.
