Hello! My name is Hannah and I am a recent college graduate with a love for teaching and science. I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.
I have 3 years experience of college level biology tutoring in Biology 101, Microbiology, Anatomy/Physiology, Biochemistry, and Genetics. At the college level I have tutored students 1 on 1, in groups ranging between 3 to 25 students and I have taught review lessons for ~100 students.
I also have 2 years of experience Zoom and in-person tutoring high school students in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology and AP Biology.
I am known for my innovative and fun approach to teaching using analogies, interactive diagrams, and conversation style teaching. Past students have appreciated my flexibility to individual learning styles and ability to match each student’s learning pace. I also highlight test taking skills and study strategies so that students can grow and improve outside of tutoring sessions.
Typically, I utilize the Zoom platform for tutoring with ipad screen sharing for real-time drawing and notes. For students in the Pittsburgh area, I am able to meet in a public location in the Oakland or Shadyside neighborhoods.
I expect students to give a 48 hour notice of session topic if they would like me to come prepared with practice questions. If a student will bring their own content to review, a 12 hour notice of session topic is sufficient.
