Computer Science Math Graduate

I graduated valedictorian of West Hazleton High School in 1985. I graduated in the top ten of Gettysburg College with honors of Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude having majored in Computer Science minoring in Math and a concentration in Physics. (One course short of a minor).

I was a substitute Teacher in The Hazleton Area School District for two years. I substituted subjects from Kindergarten to Calculus so I can relate to a wide range of students.

I am starting off by just tutoring Algebra One. Having not taken the subject since about 1980. It took me two months to refresh my memory. I could remember solving a system of linear equations by elimination but could not remember solving a system of linear equations by substitution. I could remember the slope intercept method of expressing and equation but not the point slope form. Currently I know Algebra One inside out and backwards. I took multiple online courses and read multiple books.

I will be adding other courses as my studies progress.

One of the most enjoyable days of my substitute teaching was explaining percent solutions. One student was having major difficulties with it. The other students belittled his academic abilities, I didn't give up and was able to explain the subject with a little extra explanation. I hope I can help you in the same way.
