I am a Hebrew tutor with over 14 years of experience teaching Hebrew. I have tutored children for Bar/Bat Mitzvah as well as adults who have chosen to become Bar/Bat Mitzvah in later years. I have also tutored for families who are not affiliated with a synagogue but would like to give their children the benefits of a Jewish education.

I am a senior student who knows zero Hebrew and is preparing for a B'nei Mitzvah. Stephen taught me the first 6 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. The repetition and great primer he chose gave me confidence to start reading two and three syllable sounds He was encouraging and knew when to push me a bit more and when to slow down and review.

Stephen worked with my son to prepare him to become a Bar Mitzvah in Israel. My son, who had stopped going to Hebrew school almost 2 years ago, barely remembered the Hebrew alphabet. Stephen worked with him and over a few lessons my son once again could read. I honestly think that Stephen taught him better than any of his Hebrew school teachers!!!! They worked together once a week and over a few months my son knew all the prayers as well as his Torah portion. Stephen also reviewed holidays as well as Jewish culture. The Bar Mitzvah in Israel was wonderful. My son had a stress free experience with Stephen and we could not have done it without him!

New Tutor
Stephen began tutoring my son last month and it has been such a positive experience. Instead of 2.5 hours of Sunday School and 1.5 hours of Hebrew at our local synagogue, my son has a one on one learning experience for 1 hour/week in the comfort of our home and the results are terrific. He is working hard for one hour, paying perfect attention, learning WAY more and when I ask him how was your Hebrew lesson his standard reply now is "good." That's a minor miracle in my view.
