Hi! I am an incoming graduate student beginning my Master's degree at the University of Oregon this fall in Speech-Language Pathology. I completed my Bachelor's degrees at UC Irvine in Drama and Education and received postbaccalaureate credits for Speech-Language Pathology with San Diego State. Hi! I am an incoming graduate student beginning my Master's degree at the University of Oregon this fall in Speech-Language Pathology. I completed my Bachelor's degrees at UC Irvine in Drama and Education and received postbaccalaureate credits for Speech-Language Pathology with San Diego State. After my initial undergraduate degrees, I spent seven years tutoring students professionally in K-8 academics, and in voice and piano. I also have a former background in professional music recording and songwriting myself, and lived in Los Angeles working in the music industry for over seven years. A combination of my many years of professional singing and my graduate coursework makes me particularly passionate about helping students to find their voice.

I have an education-based and music-performance background that gives me a unique approach to working with my students. I love helping them to find their inner voice, and passion for their chosen subject. Each student is different, and all students have different needs. I am passionate about getting to know my students and serving what is truly best for them as effectively as possible.

I am currently living in Eugene, Oregon, and am currently offering online lessons, with in-person lessons coming very soon. I have reliable transportation and an open schedule. I would love to work with you!

I am professionally trained in singing (private lessons) for 17 years by many voice coaches, including Dorian Holley who toured with Michael Jackson on his This is It tour, and was a resident coach for American Idol for many years. Piano training for 5 years, and Songwriting training for 5 years. Been teaching singing, piano, and songwriting privately online and in person for the last 6 years.

Knowledgeable and patient instructor

Torrey was perfect for my 8th grade daughter who is distance learning during this quarantine. I felt the additional voice training was a great way to add and enhance her singing skills during a time when most or all of the extracurricular music activities were given up.

Knowledgeable, Experienced, Relatable, and Skilled

Today was the first lesson, and Torrey readily demonstrated her knowledge of music, and her vocal and piano teaching skills. Torrey has a gentle encouraging style and she is easily relatable. The vocal practice drills were great, and she was specific in her instructions to quickly demonstrate improvement. Enjoyed learning about chords on the piano as well. Really appreciated the lesson, and looking forward to future lessons.
