Hello, a quick summary of my experience: I have taught chemistry labs and lectures at the college and university level since 1998; and I have tutored math, science and English at multiple levels from K-12, 2 year colleges and 4 year universities since 1994. Additionally, I have taught students taking BYU courses in Geometry, Algebra I and II.
I enjoy the one-on-one interaction during a tutoring session. It gives me time to help with homework and studying for exams. But the most important things that tutoring shows me are how a student learns best and if there are any underlying issues that are making the class particularly difficult.
My specialty in tutoring is to help locate the issues that are causing a student to have a difficult time in one or more classes. This is as important as learning the subject matter. Both give the student a solid basis for future courses.
