Hello! My name is Rima, and I’m excited to offer tutoring services for a variety of subjects. I graduated summa cum laude from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, where I was awarded a full-tuition academic scholarship. During my time there, I also served as an anatomy teaching assistant, helping students master complex material. Currently, I’m pursuing my MD, which I will receive in May of 2025, with the support of a half-tuition academic scholarship. I have been inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, recognizing my dedication to compassionate patient care. I’ve applied for an ophthalmology residency with plans to pursue a pediatrics fellowship.

During my gap year before medical school, I worked as a nanny and did one-on-one schooling for the two children I nannied for, who were in second grade and pre-K, during the COVID-19 pandemic. I’ve found that working with students of different ages—whether elementary, middle school, high school, or college—has helped me develop a flexible and personalized approach to tutoring. I enjoy tailoring my lessons to fit each student’s needs, whether it’s breaking down complex science topics or guiding younger students through early literacy and math skills.

I look forward to working with students of all ages and helping you or your child succeed academically!

Genetics

Genetics

I have a solid foundation in genetics, having taken the course both in college and medical school. My experience extends beyond the classroom; I have been actively involved in a genetic sequencing research lab, where I gained valuable insights into the medical relevance of genetics while pursuing my MD degree. This combination of academic knowledge and practical experience equips me to effectively tutor students in genetics, helping them understand complex concepts and their applications in medicine. I'm passionate about sharing my knowledge and fostering a deep appreciation for the field of genetics.
MCAT

MCAT

I took the MCAT in 2020, scoring 514 and placing me in the 89th percentile. I excelled in the psychology and sociology section, achieving a perfect score. With my strong understanding of the exam's structure and content, I'm excited to help students prepare effectively and build their confidence for test day. Let's work together to reach your goals!
Pharmacology

Pharmacology

As a medical student, I have a strong foundation in pharmacology and its clinical applications. I have been a teaching assistant and tutor at my school, helping students grasp complex pharmacologic concepts and their real-world implications. I scored above 250 on Step 2, demonstrating my ability to apply pharmacology effectively in clinical scenarios. My teaching approach focuses on simplifying mechanisms, reinforcing high-yield topics, and improving test-taking strategies to help students excel.
Sociology

Sociology

I hold a minor in sociology, having completed coursework in Introductory Sociology 101, the Sociology of Aging, the Sociology of Alcohol, Drugs and Society, and the Sociology of Health and Medicine. Throughout these classes, I wrote numerous research papers that deepened my understanding of social dynamics and their impact on health and well-being. My dedication to the subject is also reflected in my perfect score on the sociology section of the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). This standardized examination assesses knowledge in the natural, behavioral, and social sciences, as well as critical thinking and problem-solving skills, playing a significant role in the medical school admissions process. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and insights with students interested in sociology and its relevance in the medical field.
USMLE

USMLE

I am well-qualified to tutor for the USMLE, having successfully completed STEP 1 last June, passing on my first attempt. I recently took STEP 2 this past July, scoring above 250. My strong performance on both examinations reflects my deep understanding of the medical knowledge and clinical skills required for success in the USMLE. I am eager to share my insights and strategies with fellow students to help them achieve their goals on these important exams!
