Hello, my name is Nathan! I graduated valedictorian from Baker Early College High School in Oregon with a 4.61 weighted GPA and 120 college credits. I'm currently enrolled as a junior at Oregon State University for Electrical and Computer Engineering, where I am learning to apply mathematical concepts to the real world.

I understand that math is a challenging subject for many people; lots of high school and college students find that their class structure is not optimal for their learning. I find joy in helping people understand math in a way that works for them! I have always been good at breaking down and explaining complex topics, and I have further developed that skill through my past tutoring experiences.

Recently, I tutored for a year at Lane Community College. I worked with several students each week in a multitude of math classes, including algebra, precalculus, trigonometry, calculus, and differential equations. I even tutored in other subjects, including college writing, computer science, tech literacy, and physics classes. In all cases, I received excellent feedback and have been able to help students better understand the material they are working with.

My goal is not just to help students pass their classes; I aim to help them excel by helping them understand the material and why it works. That being said, I will always adjust my teaching style to prioritize the goals and needs of the student I’m working with. I can help students fully learn and understand concepts; I can enhance understanding by explaining how mathematical concepts are used in the real world; but I can also help with test review and strategy for students who need to quickly prepare for an exam.
