I have a Certificate of Deaf Studies, I am conversational in American Sign Language, and I have lived and interacted with individuals within the Deaf world, and I am familiar with the Deaf culture as well. My primary learning style is visual and kinesthetic, so ASL is the second language for me.
My favorite subject in school has always been English. I am passionate about correct grammar, spelling, word choice, and word structure, and I delight in learning new words to add to my vocabulary. My favorite hobby has always been reading, and I enjoy the writing process.
I obtained a MOUS Certification in MS Word in 2000, and have only continued my constant use of Word since. I use various ways to explain a concept, I demonstrate, and I encourage the learner to follow what I have modeled, and I like creating mnemonics to remember important concepts or steps.
