Reading for key ideas, looking at the questions before reading the selection, and dealing with unknown vocabulary by using context clues are some strategies we can practice. Test taking strategies, such as quickly deciding which questions you can most easily answer and which to save for later, preparing to do your best by getting proper rest, eating a good meal before the test, having the test taking tools you need, becoming acquainted with the testing location if it is unfamiliar to you, and the confidence that you have gained from tutoring, will all help you to focus on each question/item and put forth your best effort.
