I am passionate about making the sciences approachable and engaging, and I enjoy explaining difficult concepts in ways that are easy to understand. I hold a Master of Science in Physiology from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Gonzaga University. My academic training gives me a strong foundation to tutor subjects such as chemistry, biology, physiology, and other pre-medical coursework. I also tutor for the MCAT, specializing in the Bio/Biochem and Psych/Soc sections.
I have several years of experience tutoring high school and college students in chemistry and biology, both one-on-one and in small groups. In these roles, I developed strategies to simplify complex material, use real-world examples, and adjust my teaching style to each student’s learning needs. My goal is always to build confidence and independence, so students not only master the content but also strengthen study habits they can carry into future classes.
In addition to academics, I bring clinical and laboratory experience to my tutoring. I have worked as an EMT and as a biotech research associate in molecular diagnostics for respiratory viruses. These hands-on roles allow me to connect abstract molecular mechanisms to real-life scenarios, helping students see the practical relevance of what they are learning. Currently, I am in the process of applying to medical school, and I am excited to share both my knowledge and my enthusiasm for the sciences. I look forward to helping students achieve their goals and discover that learning these subjects can be both rewarding and fun.
