John, 2 lessons with JonathanJonathan is a great Chess teacher and makes complicated chess ideas easy to understand. His patience and love for the game makes working with him very enjoyable. Chess is more fun if it’s played correctly. I recommend you work with Jonathan; he’ll show you how to execute a plan at the board.
I have been A competitive chess player for about15 years and have a peak USCF rating of over 2000, which is considered an EXPERT ( top 98% of the country) level chess player. I also have a peak Blitz rating of 2024 on Chess.com and currently have a standard rating of 2002 (top 99.8% of players in the world) on Chess.com. I have also had many of my games published including a featured article in Chess Life Magazine in December of 2013 for "Game of the Month".

Great approach with a 10yr-old.
Jonathan has had 3 classes so far with my 10-year-old son, who now cannot wait for his weekly sessions. He enjoys both the learning itself and Jonathan's approach and personality. He has already made a huge noticeable progress .

I just started taking lessons with Jonathan and I am really enjoying them. He is very knowledgeable about chess and explains things in a way that is easily understandable. Also, he doesn't try to rush through lessons. The lessons are an excellent value considering the rates of other teachers I have seen on this app. 5 stars.
