Ashna: Tutor specializing in science and college prep tutoring

I am currently a student at Brown University, concentrating in Biology, and I’ve been tutoring students in math and science for the past two years. My tutoring journey began through volunteer work with Herricks CONNECTED, where I supported elementary-level students in English, math, and science. In addition, I’ve tutored students with special education needs for four years through the SMYL Club, which has shaped my ability to adapt lessons to diverse learning styles and needs. I aim to build not only understanding but also confidence in each of my students, and I strive to make learning engaging and personalized.

Academically, I scored a 35 on the ACT (36 superscore) and received 5s in AP Biology, AP World History, AP U.S. History, AP Psychology, AP English Language and Composition, and AP Calculus AB. I also earned 4s in AP Physics and AP Calculus BC. These scores reflect both subject mastery and a strong grasp of test-taking strategies, which I enjoy sharing with students in my ACT and AP prep sessions. I’ve also qualified for the Regeneron ISEF and can offer research fair advising to students interested in pursuing scientific inquiry and presentation. Additionally, I provide college advising, including essay support and application planning, drawing from my own successful admissions experience.
