I received my PhD in psychology with a Quantitative Concentration from the CUNY Graduate Center. Although my primary research and training is in psychology, I have always been interested in mathematics (and especially statistics). I received a minor in Statistics from my undergraduate institution, and taught statistics for social science at several college institutions. I am trained in conducting statistical analyses using R/RStudio, Jamovi, and SPSS. Prior to my graduate training, I developed K-12 lesson plans and promoted diversity in STEM education. I also spent a year as a substitute teacher and a high school educator (in psychology).

My path to falling in love with Statistics was not easy. I, too, struggled with solving problems, interpretations, and application of statistical concepts. But, I am here to tell you it gets easier over time. My goal as a tutor is to make math (and statistics in particular) seem like an approachable subject, and one that you can use to answer questions in your everyday life.

Over the course of my career, I have learned how to teach math in approachable ways. In developing STEM lesson plans, I used graphic novels to introduce difficult concepts. As a professor, I applied Statistical concepts to everyday life, focused on graph literacy, and introduced songs to help remember important topics. My goal as a math tutor is to teach comprehension and application of knowledge; I believe learning should extend beyond the classroom.

I am happy to help you move forward with your math and statistics career. Please reach out to me with any questions and contact me to learn more about my lessons.

Data Analysis

Data Analysis

I have a PhD in psychology with a quantitative concentration. I have taught statistics on and off for the last 4 years, and have learned how to best approach data analyses in my courses. I also served as a Quantitative Reasoning Fellow at the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies for 2 years, learning how to apply data analysis to real-world problem solving.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

Although I am trained in psychology, I have a general interest in mathematics. I have a minor in Statistics and am working toward a Quantitative Concentration. I have also developed K-12 lesson plans in mathematics and have taken coursework in teaching mathematics to middle school students (e.g., "Seminar in Teaching Statistics to Middle Schoolers").
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I am a PhD student in Psychology with a Quantitative Concentration. I have taught Statistics at two colleges, to both undergraduate students and high school students. I have also worked as a substitute teacher for 4th grade to 10th grade, specializing in mathematics.
Psychology

Psychology

I am a social psychologist by training. My research focuses on moral psychology (e.g., blame and punishment) and workplace issues. I have published in several psychological journals, have received over 16 fellowships/honors/awards related to psychology, and have over 25 presentations at local and national conferences. I am preparing to teach Introduction to Psychology in Summer 2022 or Fall 2022.
SPSS

SPSS

I am a social psychology researcher and conduct most of my statistical analyses using SPSS and R. I have worked with SPSS for over 5 years and have taught students how to use SPSS in the courses for which I was a teaching assistant. In the past, I have worked primarily with psychology and business students who are new to SPSS, but can assist students from all backgrounds and from varying levels of experience.
