I have experience teaching language arts in kindergarten, first and second grade. I have successfully taught many struggling readers how to read by developing a solid foundation in phonics. My students have developed a strong understanding of phonemic awareness and how to dissect each sound within unknown words. I have taught my students how to tap out sounds, stretch words and identify unknown vowel sounds within words they do not know. To successfully teach phonics, I spend a lot of time on each vowel team and various blends and digraphs until my students become independent readers.

I mastered how to give effective, thorough and confident speeches to the public. I am well aware of how to organize a pre-planned speech, as well as how to manage and effectively deliver an impromptu speech. I am able to teach students how to organize speeches and develop successful techniques for developing supporting points, introductions and concluding statements. In addition, I have vast experience with debates as well; thus, I am able to properly prepare students with rebuttals and how to provide supporting evidence within persuasive speeches.

Having multiple years of full time teaching experience, I have mastered the process of teaching students about efficiency and prioritizing. I work with students to develop strategies for each subject and assignment. Together with the student I develop ways to thoroughly cover and retain material. I also teach students about text features and how to properly utilize textbooks in order to efficiently find information. I work with students to strategize and organize more efficiently and effectively.
