Hello, hello student!
Welcome to tutoring by Dr. Sadia, MD, DBA. I am now spreading that knowledge forward. When I was as young as 7, I began needing one-on-one help. It has made me who I am, and I am grateful. My goal is to be just as positive and present for each of my students. Additionally, I can be strict and keep you motivated as I hold you accountable for your material (especially my doctors and nurses).
After years of experience and teaching in numerous environments, I have narrowed down a step-by-step way to teach these exams, along with a thorough content review. For the MCAT and USMLE, I have created a plan that has been proven extremely effective and gives the students the day-to-day of what they should be doing to maximize success. In each session, I take the time to learn about my student's learning needs and personal goals. I have successfully guided students through all technical and content-based areas of an exam/topic/course. During the first session, I get to know my students and ask them about anything hindering their learning, i.e., personal issues, family, anxiety, ADHD, etc.
One non-negotiable is that students complete the assignments and homework I assign. The sessions are all about the student; however, it is imperative that I am engaged in them. At times, I may have the student teach me during the session, and I add in anything the student is missing or even quiz them.
I would like to add that some students have come to my session unprepared, even after the exact requirements were laid out to them, and then once I had spoken on the topic, they rated me poorly. This is highly unprofessional, and as I take on healthcare providers, I expect we should always be courteous and professional. During my sessions, I expect the students to be engaged and excited to learn!
