Bio

Hello, I’m Laurie. I have been a Paramedic since 2004, and even obtained Critical Care Paramedic credential. Even though I have been an ALS provider, I still retain knowledge of the basics! I have been an AHA instructor since 2004 and have been a Registered Respiratory Therapist since 2019. Additionally, I hold a BA in Psychology and a MS in Emergency Management.

I have been an AHA instructor since 2004 and have been a Registered Respiratory Therapist since 2019. Additionally, I hold a BA in Psychology and a MS in Emergency Management.

I have been teaching all levels of EMS students since 2021 upon moving to NC and have informally been a teacher / mentor throughout my EMS career. I wish to continue being an instructor / mentor within the online tutoring venue. It is my goal to empower and educate those EMS students who feel lost or overwhelmed with all the material. There is no greater feeling than when a student passes exams and realizes “yes, I CAN do this!”.

Whether you need assistance with pharmacology / math, anatomy & physiology, cardiac or respiratory emergencies, or more, I will meet you at your level and help you succeed. I can tutor EMR, EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic. I have NREMT certification, so it also does not matter what state you reside.

Pharmacology

I have extensive knowledge in pharmacology as it relates to EMS. Pharmacology includes emergency medications, such as epinephrine, atropine, diltiazem, etc. I have been providing patients with emergency medications for the past 20 years, and have been teaching EMS students pharmacology for the past 3 years. Additionally, I was the education coordinator for EMS for 2 years during my time as Captain of EMS.

I have extensive knowledge in physiology as it relates to EMS. No matter your level of EMS, there will be some physiology to review. This will coincide with anatomy.
