I am a rising sophomore at Columbia University and enjoy helping others succeed academically. I graduated summa cum laude from high school, am an AP Scholar with Distinction, and received a 1550 SAT score (780 R&W, 770 Math) and 35 ACT score. In high school, I was the Peer Tutoring Coordinator and later the President of my school’s Math Honor Society. These experiences imbued me with a passion for teaching and helping others.

I have 50+ hours of experience tutoring high school mathematics and SAT prep (both Math and Reading & Writing). These were volunteer experiences both through my local high school (where I tutored mostly one-on-one for students needing help with coursework for NC Math 1 - 4, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry) and through the online platform Schoolhouse World (where I led a series of SAT prep sessions for a small group of students). I have worked mostly with high school learners but am open to working with other age groups.

I am available to tutor a variety of topics, including math up through Calculus BC; up to AP-level biology, chemistry, and environmental science; reading and writing; and SAT/ACT prep. I received 5s (the highest score) on all of my AP exams on these topics, and, as a recent high school graduate, this knowledge is still fresh in my mind. I use an active learning approach to tutoring by primarily focusing on working through practice problems together with my learners and explaining the concepts as we go along. I also give them the opportunity to try problems on their own and step in to answer questions whenever they get stuck.
