I am a physics professor with over twenty-five years of college and university teaching experience. I have predominately taught algebra based and calculus based physics classes. These types of classes are typically titled "College Physics," "General Physics," "Engineering Physics," or "Physics for Science and Engineering." I have also taught college math classes.
I also do physics reviews for professional school admittance tests. These tests are often required for scientific, medical, or engineering related fields of study.
I charge only for the time spent tutoring, never for gas or travel time. Tutoring sessions must be a minimum of one hour. David is extremely helpful and walks you through every step so you can clearly understand. Concepts that are just not sinking in are his specialty. I highly recommend him if you are struggling with Algebra, Physics, or the like. The light bulb will go off and you'll feel like you really understand the material.
Reviewed Physics problems to prepare for a quiz. He helped to clarify the concepts with kindness, clarity and patience. We will definitely request his help again in the future.
David is helping our daughter prepare for College Algebra. He has helped her understand concepts and she feels more confident in her ability. Thanks David for your help and patience!
David has helped my son raise his Math portion of the ACT score from an 18 to a 25. He has a very soft deliver and has helped my son with some strategies to further understand some of the questions. He works at my sons pace and doesn't overload him with tons of information at once.
He breaks everything down into simple steps that you can use to solve the most basic to the most complex problems. It's a way to organize all of the information for you to clearly see and comprehend things and simple enough to add other concepts onto it in the future. I feel like 1 hour spent with him is equivalent to 3 hrs with another tutor. He's definitely worth the money!
David B. Helped my daughter understand and gain some confidence in her Algebra class. He was able to demonstrate and explain it to her and help her understand it. Super pleased with this tutoring session!
David had been a great help with my daughter's AP Physics II class. He is helping her learn Physics so that she can be successful with her AP test.
Quote from my 1st grade daughter: "He explained everything at a pace I could understand. I think it helped me a ton."
David is helping to teach my daughter everything she needs to know to be successful in taking the MCAT exam.
David is a great tutor. In fact we are continuing having David as a tutor during the 2015 semester.
Struggling through Physics shouldn't be an option. David offered help that was professional and communicated at a level that could be understood. It's exciting when your child says I WANT TO take that quiz over because I understand it now! Sweet music to this Momma's ears! Anticipate more sessions and APPRECIATE David's help.
Thanks for all your help. You have helped my son a great deal. See you in the fall!
David is an excellent tutor. He explained the concepts of physics in a way that was very easy to understand. He replied promptly to every email I sent to him and he was on time for every lesson. I had two sessions with him and my grade went up a letter. I wish I had hired him earlier in the semester! I would highly recommend him. He helped me with a college level conceptual physics class.
David is patient and calm in working out problems. He is very quick with math and always has a great attitude.
David is by far one of the best physics teachers, hands down. He knows physics inside and out, even all the formulas! I came to him with MCAT passages and started on it right away, without any books, formulas, etc. and he knew his physics, plus some added bonuses of being a great teacher and being patient. I can easily say that I will score better on my MCAT because of his help. Thank you, David!
This is a subject that is very difficult for me. David is excellent and I am so glad he is helping me with this course.
David has been a lifesaver to my son. Physics has been a difficult concept for my son to grasp. Over the weeks that David has tutored him in physics I have seen his confidence grow in being able to understand the concepts. His grade level has improve by two grades and he continues to improve. I am so happy when he's able to explain concepts to me. I appreciate David patience in teaching Patrick.
David has been very patient with my child! He works through the problems with him and when my son is tired, gently encourages him to keep trying. I have been very pleased with how he works with my son.
I had several sessions with Mr. B in Physics II and it was by far the most physics I have ever understood. He did a great job explaining difficult concepts in more easy to understand chunks, thus making the whole topic far less intimidating. He took the time to go over anything that I was still struggling with and used different books and handouts to give me fresh ways of reviewing the material. I highly recommend him for any Physics students...I truly feel that my confidence and my grasp of the subject was solely due to our sessions!
Mr. David B. is a great tutor; he is very patient, academic, and relevant in his knowledge, and teaching methods.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I was in the Chess Club throughout school, and was the President of the Chess Club my senior year. I participated in many tournaments, and won trophies as a result.
Linear algebra involves working with, vectors, vector spaces, transformations, matrices, and eigenvalues. As a physicist, I have used linear algebra in various applications.
