Hello, I'm Nelson! With a deep-rooted passion for economic theory and financial decision-making, I’ve spent over a decade building a strong academic and teaching foundation in economics, finance, and accounting. I earned my Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, followed by a Master’s in Applied Economics from Columbia University. To further strengthen my expertise in financial theory, policy analysis, and quantitative research, I completed my PhD in Economics at the University of Chicago, where my work focused on macroeconomic modeling, market behavior, and corporate financial dynamics.
My tutoring spans core areas of economics — including microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, international economics, and economic policy — as well as corporate finance, financial accounting, investment analysis, and managerial finance. I specialize in simplifying complex theories and showing students how economic principles apply to real markets, corporate decision-making, and global financial systems.
Though my primary focus is economics, finance and accounting, I also bring meaningful experience in data interpretation. I have working proficiency with tools such as Stata, R, Python, and Excel, which I use to demonstrate how data supports economic reasoning, forecasting, and empirical analysis.
Over the years, I’ve guided students at the undergraduate, MBA, and graduate-economics levels. I previously taught and assisted courses at U.S. universities, helping learners strengthen analytical thinking, prepare for exams, complete rigorous problem sets, and confidently approach quantitative challenges. My teaching style is structured yet approachable — combining clear explanations, step-by-step breakdowns, and plenty of practice to ensure concepts truly “click.”
If you’re looking for support in economics, finance, accounting, or applied quantitative work, I’d be glad to help you build mastery and achieve your academic goals.
