Hi, I’m Anastasia!
I’m currently a doctoral student at Louisiana State University, pursuing a PhD in Rhetoric and Cultural Studies. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Cal Poly Humboldt and my Master’s degree from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR).
During my undergraduate studies, I began coaching students in the Speech and Debate club, helping them qualify for the national tournament while also competing myself. I loved watching students explore their interests in creative and collaborative ways, and I was inspired by their pursuit of excellence. That passion led me to accept a teaching assistantship during my master’s program so I could continue helping students channel their interests into meaningful work.
I take a personalized approach to tutoring, helping students connect with material in a way that feels relevant and applicable—whether it’s for school, work, or personal growth.
I’ve taught at the university level for four years, covering subjects such as Debate and Argumentation, Communication and Gender Theory, and Public Speaking. In addition to classroom teaching, I’ve tutored individual students in English, writing and literature comprehension, theater, and speech.
I understand that each tutoring session has its own goals and definitions of success, so I always encourage open dialogue to tailor our sessions to your needs. I’m easy to reach and quick to respond—please don’t hesitate to contact me with questions or to set up a personalized lesson plan!
