I am a certified teacher in Illinois with 9 years of experience teaching language arts (reading/writing), history/social studies (including AP level courses) and computer literacy. I have a BA degree in history and secondary education, and a masters degree in computer applications. I have worked extensively with students of all ages, including kids in grades 6-12, as well as college students and adult learners through my local community college.

I also have extensive experience preparing students for exams, including the ACT, AP history exams, and teacher preparation exams (like the basic skills test). Additionally, I have experience teaching AP World History, AP European History, and AP United States History, as well as college level history coursework. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

All of our staff and students use Windows machines, and I am responsible for the setup, training, and ongoing user support, for our Windows computers. We recently transitioned to Windows 10, so I have experience with 10, 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, and XP.
